Split Riviera

Split Riviera cuisine is part of Mediterranean cuisine, which primarily means a host of dishes made from tasty white fish, cheese, ham (prosciutto) and various meat specialities. Animals that have grazed on pasturelands rich in minerals produce meat with a special aroma. As well as the eating places on Split Riviera, we should not forget to mention local restaurants in the Varoš quarter of Split, in the city centre, with their original specialities.

Grilled fish seasoned with olive oil, garlic and parsley

Dalmatian pašticada – beef stuffed with bacon, garlic and cloves, cooked in red wine. One of the best meat dishes in Split Riviera cuisine.

Dalmatian ham (prosciutto) and cheese

Dalmatian fritters – a local speciality made from pastry, brandy and grapes, deep-fried in hot oil

Veal and potatoes prepared under a baking dome, with vegetable salad. A traditional dish not to be missed.

Soparnik, an Omiš hinterland speciality made from pastry, mangold and garlic.
